Tournament Rules and Regulations

I. ELIGIBILITY:

Group A—Open Section: Eligible to participate are titled or untitled chess players who are rated 1975 and below in the FIDE Rapid Rating List as of May 1, 2023, regardless of age, gender, residency, and nationality.

Group B—Kids (13-U) Section: Eligible to participate are untitled chess players who are not yet 14 years old as of May 1, 2023, and rated 1800 and below in the FIDE Rating List as of May 1, 2023, regardless of gender, residency, or nationality.

II. Tournament Format: Individual Swiss System, 6 or 7 rounds (depending on the number of players).

III. Time Control: Fifteen (15) minutes with a 5-second increment per move for each player, play-to-finish

IV. SCORING SYSTEM:

1 point for a won game, 0.5 for a drawn game and 0 for a loss game

V. Guaranteed Prizes

Group A – Open, 1975 and below rating (Limited to 80 Active Members of NCFP only)

Champion P 5,000 + Medal

2nd Place 2,500 + Medal

3rd place 1,500 + Medal

4th place 1,000

5th place 600

6thPlace 500

7th place 500

8th place 500

Category: 500 each + Medal (at least 3 participants)

Top Lady, Golden Boy (50+), PWD, and Top College.

Group B – KIDS (13-U) with 1800 and below rating (Limited to 80 Active Members of NCFP only)

Champion P 2,500 + Medal

2nd Place 1,500 + Medal

3rd place 1,000 + Medal

4th place 600

5th place 500

6thPlace 400

7th place 400

8th place 400

Category: 400 each + Medal (at least 3 participants)

Group A: Open 1975 and below rating: Early registration is P400.00; however, on-site registration is P500.00.

Group B: Kids (13-U): Early registration is P350.00; however, on-site registration is P500.00.
